Princess Charlotte turned 11 on Saturday, with her parents sharing a new photograph of her on Instagram to celebrate the occasion. "Wishing Charlotte a very happy 11th birthday!" the photo, which was captured by Matt Porteous on the Wales family's recent holiday to Cornwall, was captioned.
The princess was seen in a navy and red striped jumper by Ralph Lauren and jeans as she posed in a field of daisies. Charlotte looked uncannily like her older brother, Prince George, who turned 11 in 2024.
In particular, George was seen grinning as he joined his family on the annual Christmas Day walkabout at Sandringham that year. His sweet smile looked just like that of his sister.
The resemblance between the siblings was also clear to see during the 2024 Trooping the Colour parade.
Princess Charlotte's birthday video
Alongside the lovely photo of Charlotte in a daisy field, the Prince and Princess of Wales also released a video of their daughter on her birthday. It featured moments from their Cornwall trip, including the princess on a boat with the family's one-year-old cocker spaniel, Otto, as well as the tween arranging shells into a heart on the beach and showing off her bowling arm with a game of cricket.
As far as Charlotte's birthday plans were concerned, the royal celebrated in private with those closest to her, bar her grandfather King Charles, who was in the US on the State Visit with Queen Camilla.
Charlotte's school life
The youngster is yet to start making solo royal outings with her parents due to her age. Instead, William and Kate are focused on Charlotte's schooling, with a new report revealing in April that the couple is "heavily involved" in this part of her life.
Reportedly, their involvement extends to parents' WhatsApp groups and watching swimming and sporting events on the sidelines, according to sources cited in The Telegraph.
A Palace source even called Kate the "school mum you’d call to scoop your children up when you’re running late".
All three of the Wales children currently attend Lambrook School in Berkshire. Charlotte likely picked up her bowling skills at school, as cricket and football are both compulsory for Lambrook girls. At Prep level, pupils also take part in rugby, hockey, athletics, and netball.
In September, George will break away from his siblings to attend secondary school, likely Eton or Malborough, though this has not yet been confirmed.
